It’s basketball playoff season time. As a reminder, the slogan “March Madness” did NOT originate with the NCAA.
I grew up with “March Madness” playing basketball in Illinois playgrounds in the 60’s & 70’s well before the NCAA caught on. I and my friends would skip school on the Friday of championship weekend at Champaign and tune into WGN television for all the action. It was a great time.
These days I appreciate the game from an official’s viewpoint. The kids are great, the players mostly thankful, and the fans? Well I’ll reserve judgment on that!
